Gross Machine was founded in 1976 by R. Bruce Gross. The first shop was located in the basement of Mr. Gross's residential home where the whole family became involved in the business. The company found its niche in small diameter high precision turned parts with a quick turn around. As the company outgrew the basement it moved into a larger industrial space and added various pieces of equipement to compliment their hand turret turning capabilities.
In the mid 80's the company moved into an industrial complex renting one unit and a couple of years later a second unit. It is here in 1988 where the first CNC lathe came online, revolutionizing the shop over night. Adding almost a machine a year the company now has 4 CNC mills and 5 CNC lathes.
In the mid 90's the company moved into a 17,000 square foot building to house the company for many years to come.
Today Mr. Gross is retired living in Florida. His son, Bruce, is the company President and runs the manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania.
